Muhammed Zafar Iqbal was born on 23 December 1952 in Sylhet. If science fiction writer Muhammad Zafar Iqbal ever wrote the story of his life, it would have more unexpected twists and turns than all the radical space-age thrillers he has ever written. It is the story of a boy who, for years, didn’t have a shirt to wear and had to borrow his brother’s only shirt to go out. The story of a teenager who had to dig up his father’s dead body and bring it home to his mother. Of a young man who would stand and stare at the books that lined the shelves of the Dhaka New Market bookstores, dreaming of a day when he would have the money to buy this one, or that. The story of a father who told his children to try and learn nothing from the ignorant teachers at school. And yet, the most remarkable thing is that it is a happy story. He passed SSC from Bogra Zilla School in 1968 and HSC in 1970 from Dhaka College. He joined in Dhaka University at the department of Physics in 1972. In 1976, Zafar Iqbal went to University of Washington in USA to obtain his Ph. D. There he again met his Dhaka University classmate Yasmeen Haque, and a year later they were married. Iqbal’s first big break as a writer came when the erstwhile weekly Bichitra published his science fiction story in the early seventies. It was called Kopotronik Bhalobasha. He is now a professor of the Computer Science and Engineering of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.

Anisul Hoque, (1965) is a Bangladeshi author, novelist, dramatist, and journalist.Anisul Hoque was born in Rangpur in 1965 (1966, according to academic certificate). His father is late Mofazzal Hoque and mother is Mst. Anwara Begum. He was the student of Rangpur PTI primary school, Rangpur Zilla School, Rangpur Carmichael College. Hoque graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, trained as a civil engineer. His inspiration in journalism and writing started during his student life. After his graduation he joined to serve as a government employee but resigined only after 15 days. Later, He started working as a journalist. Currently, Hoque is working as a Deputy Editor of the Bengali language daily Prothom Alo which is leading position in Bangladesh.
