See full size imageChittaranajan Maiti, a prolific writer for the last six decades, was born in a village in Medinipur district which was famous for its revolutionary fervent. He entered into the world of Bengali literature with his story published in the widely circulated and respected magazine for children, ‘Sishu Saathi’ when he was a school student. Later he was a professor of Bengali literature in a Kolkata college, and worked as a editor with several publishing houses. Chittaranjan Maiti is more known for his historical novels which counts more than two dozens. He has written about 60 romantic novels , 12 travelogue and three autobiographical novels. He has written several books for children including some famous pre-school books. Four of his novels have been made successful feature films by eminent directors. He ahs been translated into English and French languages
