Jyotirindra Nandi (1912-1982)was born in Comilla, Bangladesh.Mainly known for his biting short stories often dealing with the stark reality of the urban lower middle class lives, Nandi has also written a handful of large canvas novels considered as permanent treasure of modern Bengali literature
