Sasthi Pada (Sashticharan) Chattopadhyay, the author and creator of Mahakabi Aswaghosh and Mahakabi Amaru was born on 9th March, 1941 in Central Howrah, Khurut Sashtitala..He started his literary work from early adulthood. Though he was working with Anandabazar Robibarsio from 1961 he got recognition for Pandab Goyenda which he penned for children in 1981.
The writer loves adventures which led him to explore countries for some rare & unique experiences. These experiences are skillfully reflected in his stories and characters.
